Goodreads

Dear Readers, this week is a focus on Goodreads. My book has been gaining reviews and ratings on Goodreads and I hope to see more reviews and enjoy reading them. I would especially love to know your favourite part of the story! I would recommend Goodreads for any budding author, as it’s popular, reputable and free to build recognition and connect with readers.

Advertising

Hi Readers, this week I’ve mostly been working on advertising through Amazon.com and Facebook ads. I'm hoping they manage to reach the people I can’t. I have to admit, I struggle when it comes to technology and how to form a decent advertisement, but it’s all part of the learning process. I have also started to form a news-letter to send out with my email marketing account on Substack. I’m still trying to navigate Substack but hope that I’ll accomplish something by the end of this month.

Podcast Blog

The Apple podcast has a release date of the 24th of August. I can’t wait to see it! I’m also preparing to design my second book cover so I can send it to my illustrator. Thirdly, I’ve been having creative fun on Canva.com, cutting elements from different pictures and arranging them to simulate characters and scenes from my book. In June, I hope to begin the design of my cover for the second book. It is an exciting thought that my second book will be in physical form soon, and I can not wait to share it with you all.

Continuing Chapter One...

The next morning, Kay arose sleepily from her bed and walked through to the living room, where her mother stood, ironing her school sweatshirt. Her mother was gazing out of the window, which looked out over her home town of Falkirk.

What? Book Three?

It has been another busy week. I am still in the process of editing my second book to be published at the end of the year. My editing process can certainly be a lengthy one. I am always keen to make sure my chapters are the best they can be. I also started writing out my third book for my Nymphas’ World series. Writing my books out by hand is one of my first editing strategies. It means I can pinpoint issues with a fine comb. I’m so excited to begin writing out my next epic book!
