The Talking Daisy
Hello everyone, I have now completed the character profiles and am moving on to enchanted objects. I will share an extract from my book alongside an AI-generated image representation.
My first enchanted object is the Talking Daisy. Here is an extract from my book…
She sighed as she gazed at her half-formed daisy chain.
“I wish I had friends,” she said softly, as a tear rolled down her cheek.
“I’ll be your friend,” responded a child’s voice. Kay jumped. The voice had come from behind her, so she spun around, but nobody was there.
“Hello, who’s there?” Kay called out.
“Down here,” whispered the voice. Kay looked down and saw a small, fuzzy face gazing up at her from the grass; it was a daisy. Kay gave a scream that the whole street could have heard.
“No, don’t scream, please, I just want to talk,” the flower pleaded, and Kay fell silent with her mouth agape.
“How can you speak?” she asked.
“Please don’t be frightened, I just want to be your friend,” the flower said, innocently. Kay watched the flower blink and move its eyes.
