The Tactus
The ‘Tactus’ is an enchanted communication device in Nymphas’ World. Alva carries one, allowing him to speak with any fellow Nympha who possesses a Tactus of their own.
Here is an extract from my book…
He wandered a few feet away, looking closely at his ring. It was silver with an oval-shaped orange stone in the middle. Around the outside of the stone were miniature golden petals that moved when Alva spoke to it.
“Mum… Mum, can you hear me?”
“Alva, where have you been? I’ve been so worried! No one could tell me where you were or… where are you anyway?”
“It’s okay Mum, I’m in Slumber’s roots and we’re heading for the village,” Alva answered to reassure her.
“We — who else is with you? I bet you their parents will be worried sick too!”
“Well, Mum, that’s sort of what I want to talk to you about. The two that are travelling to the village with me are Humans.”
