The Woodburn Trio
The Woodburn Trio are Ever Nympha triplets who are the same age as Alva. They have yellow hair, pointed ears, damselfly wings, and wear worn, green, leaf-like clothing.
The eldest triplet is Holly Woodburn. She is the tallest and most mischievous of the three, often coming up with ideas to annoy others. Although she can be indifferent and occasionally hurtful, she cares deeply for her siblings.
The middle triplet is Fern Woodburn. He usually follows Holly’s lead but is far more cautious and anxious by nature. Fern is friendlier than Holly and often seeks her approval. He is short for his age, which makes it harder for him when his elder sister pushes him around.
The youngest triplet is Ivy Woodburn. She is the friendliest of the three and enjoys playful mischief. Sensitive and caring, she is also easily influenced by Holly. She is shorter than Holly and has fuller, softer features.
The Woodburn Trio are well known but appear somewhat unkempt and wear old clothing. They live with their father, who struggles to manage their behaviour and is not a character we meet in the book.
Kay and Rob meet the Woodburn Trio while hiding in Alva’s school. The Woodburns discover them and give them a tour of Ever, which ultimately leads to mischief at Evertrunk Castle.
