General Douglas Slate
General Douglas Slate is the commanding General of the Onyx Nymphas and the principal antagonist in the first instalment of the Nymphas’ World series.
The Onyx Nymphas are a fearsome race—tall, imposing figures with vast, dark bat-like wings and sharply pointed ears. Their skin ranges through varying shades of blue, adding to their otherworldly presence. General Slate himself is particularly striking. He has deep blue skin, white pupil-less eyes that give him an unsettling gaze, and long, dark navy hair worn neatly above a trimmed beard. His hands and feet end in talon-like nails, and he dresses in fur garments layered beneath and alongside his armoured uniform, reflecting both savagery and military precision.
A ruthless and uncompromising leader, General Slate is driven by cruelty and an intense, simmering hatred. He tolerates no disobedience and expects absolute loyalty to his command. Fiercely proud of his allegiance to his king, he carries out his duties with extreme and merciless efficiency.
The Onyx Nymphas harbour a deep contempt for humans, and General Slate embodies this prejudice without hesitation. It is he who leads the attack upon the Ever Celebration, where Rob—Kay’s brother—is seized and taken Beyond the Onyx Mountains to face an uncertain and grim fate. Determined and desperate, Kay embarks on a perilous journey to rescue him, ultimately coming face to face once more with the notorious General Slate.
In the shadow of his power and cruelty, one question remains: will Kay succeed in saving her brother, or will she fall into the clutches of the merciless General of the Onyx Nymphas?
